Explosion Disrupts APC Rally in Rivers State

 Three explosive devices have reportedly  gone off in the course of the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship rally in Okrika ,Rivers State ,the Hometown of President Goodluck Jonathan's wife,Patience, causing pandemonium at the event.

As supporters were gathering for Tuesday's rally at the National Secondary School, a small explosive device went off, forcing crowds to scatter but causing no casualties, a witness said.
Organizers then decided to press on with the event but gunshots from unknown assailants caused a second wave of chaos, live pictures broadcast on the Channels television station showed.
A reporter from the privately owned TV channel was forced to take cover, lying with his stomach on the ground as armed security personnel moved in the background.

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, was said to have been whisked away by security operatives in the midst of the deafening sound of sporadic gunshots few minutes after three explosives went off close at the campaign ground on the field of  Okrika National Secondary School .
 Although it was reported that there was a stampede when the shots went off but it could not be confirmed if there are any casualties. More details soon.
